Makis(Gerasimos) Fioros

Set Designer, Costume Designer
He was born in Patras. He initially studied piano and harmony at the Hellenic Conservatory. In 1990 he excelled in the examinations of the School of Fine Arts. He studied there under Giorgos Nicolaidis, Giorgos Lappas, Vassilis Papaioannou, Theodoros Papagiannis, Marina Lambraki-Plaka, Yannis Kontaratos and Giorgos Ziakas, graduating with honors (1995). At the same time he began working with theaters and theater companies in Athens. He designs sets for independent theater companies (Prosxima Group, Kallithea Center for Education and Rehabilitation for the Blind (CERB), Lyrical Expression Group, Activity Group, Aiorisi Modern Dance Group, Polyhymnia Artistic Company and Patra Municipal and Regional Theater). At an early stage of his career he collaborated with renowned set designers, such as Apostolos Vettas, Nikos Petropoulos, etc. In 1994 he collaborated with the GNO as assistant set designer in the production of the ballet The sleeping beauty [La belle au bois dormant] (Petipa-Martinez/Tchaikovsky). He has worked for television and has taken part as a painting artist in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. His works are in private collections in Greece and abroad. He has designed and painted large-sized murals in private mansions and shops in Athens and Patra.
