Dimitris Gogosis
Conductor
He was born in Poros Troizinias on the Peloponnesse. He studies advanced music theory in the class of composer Christos Anastasiou (diploma in composition) and orchestra conducting with Lefteris Chalkiadakis (diploma in orchestra conducting with a unanimous "Excellent" grade). In 2003, he received a distinction at the First Panhellenic Competitive Festival of Music Direction, where he conducted the work "Oleteira," and in October 2007 at the international contest ALEA III of Boston University, where he conducted the work "Concerto for 8." Professionally, he is conducting a philharmonic orchestra and teaching theoretical courses at the Symphonic Conservatory. He has been an active member of the Athens Chamber Opera since 2000 and has served as conductor of the Syros Music Association mixed choir. He conducted Nino Rota's Aladdin and the Magic Lamp [Aladino e la lambada magica], which was staged at the Olympia Theater by the Athens Chamber Opera in collaboration with the GNO (2007/08).
