Igor Golovatenko

He was born on 17/10/1980 in Russia. He studied monody at the Moscow Academy of the Choral Arts with professor Dmitry Vdovin. He took part in international competitions at a young age and won prizes and awards. He made his first appearance in 2006, when he took part in the Russian premiere of Frederik Delius' Eine Messe des Lebens with the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov. Since 2007 he has been a soloist at the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow and since 2014 a soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre, where he has sung the most representative roles of his repertoire. In recent years, he has appeared in major productions and collaborated with renowned conductors, whilst his repertoire also includes solo performances and chamber music concerts. His performance as Prince Yeletsky (The Queen of Spades) at the Salzburg Festival (2018), for which he received rave reviews, was also crucial to his development.
