
Antigone Gyra
Choreographer
In 1996 she created Kinitiras dance theatre group with which she has choreographed to date dozens of works, with grants from the Greek Ministry of Culture and other bodies or autonomously, that have been presented in Greece and abroad. From 2008 to 2019 she coordinated the first residency centre for performing arts in Greece, which offered on the cultural map of Athens events on research, exchange of artists and artistic hospitality. With Kinitiras Gyra brings dance and physical theatre to primary and secondary education, while she organises Erasmus+ youth exchange programmes with axes of social awareness (lgbtq+, refugee, hate speech, etc). In the last two years, with the support of foreign bodies and the Ministry of Culture, she carried out two choreographic researches (Femininity in transition, Contemporary dance and the Third Age). She has collaborated with leading directors and companies at the National Theatre of Greece, the free theatre and as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival.
