Recent engagements include Don Carlo (Moscow), Les Troyens (Chicago), Ariadne auf Naxos (Santa Fe), Capriccio (Santa Fe / Garsington Opera), Orfeo ed Euridice (Paris / Rome). He has designed for theatre and opera around the world including Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Vienna, Brussels, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Zurich, Amsterdam and London. A special relationship exists with the festivals in Glyndebourne (Káťa Kabanová, Jenůfa, Death in Venice, Věc Makropulos, The Bartered Bride) and Santa Fe (Die Zauberflöte, Arabella, Capriccio, Ariadne auf Naxos). Other festivals include Graz, Vienna, Bregenz, Glimmerglass and Edinburgh. In collaboration with the German actress Imogen Kogge, he directed and designed Ariodante, Madama Butterfly and Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Nationale Reisopera / Scottish Opera), The Two Widows (Scottish Opera / Edinburgh Festival), Anna Bolena (Oper Köln) and Norma (Aalto Theater, Essen). // Last update: May 2019
