Ioan Hotea
Soloist, Tenor
Romanian tenor, he studied in his hometown, Baia Mare, and at the Bucharest Music Academy. Currently he continues with tenor Alberto Cupido in Italy. He has been a member of the Romanian National Opera (Bucharest, 2011/13), where he sang, among others, Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) and Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi). Moreover he has sung The Lover (Menotti’s Amelia al ballo, Opéra de Monte-Carlo), Tebaldo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Opéra national de Paris), Alfredo (La traviata, Romanian National Opera, Timișoara), Ernesto (Don Pasquale, Zurich Opera), Ferrando (Così fan tutte, Vienna State Opera), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte, Wiesbaden State Theatre, Germany). He performs in concerts and recitals. He has been awarded in the Competition of the Romanian National Opera (Bucharest), Hariclea Darclée International Voice Competition and Plácido Domingo’s Operalia. At the Greek National Opera he has sung the role of Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) as well as the role of the Chevalier des Grieux (Manon). // Last update: December 2018 - The list of productions below is continually updated.
