Michalis Kalampokis

Actor
He was born in Boston, USA in 1978. He graduated with honors from the National Theater of Greece Drama School (2002); also graduated with honors and is a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology, Department of Psychology, Panteion University (2000). At an early age he started training in theater, music, dance and song, and also attended seminars by National Theater of Greece on tragedy, Elizabethan theater, Renaissance and Japanese theater. At the same time he involved in drama therapy, as well as in psychology in the field of theater, also studying direction and translation. He has participated in musical recordings, speakage, radio programs and radio theater. He has appeared in television productions and in K. Kostantakis’ shortfilm The King's clothing [Ta rouha tou vasilia] (First Prize in the Sicilian Film Festival, 2003). In theatre, he has appeared in the plays Dialogues of the Dead (as Protesilaus, directed by N. Charalambous, Cyprus Theatre Organisation), The Diary of Anne Frank (as Peter, directed by K. Tsonos), Seagull (Treplyov, directed by N. Charalambous), Tale without a name (as Prince, directed by G. Iordanides) and It’s not me [Den eimai ego] (as Themos, directed by K. Tsianos). In the summer of 2005 he worked with the Rumeli Regional Theatre as part of the Athens Festival, where he played the crazy clown Feste in the Twelfth Night (directed by N. Charalambous). He has also worked with the State Theater of Northern Greece. He founded and teaches at the Higher Drama School of Art Kalvos-Kalabokis “Athenian Stage”.
