Michalis Katsoulis

Soloist, Baritone
He was born in Piraeus. He studied at the Athens Conservatory and the National Conservatory under Despina Kalafati. He graduated from the Acting workshop of the Amphitheater of Spyros Evangelatos. From 1994 to 2001 he studied in Munich under baritone Josef Metternich, while at the same time studying at the Opera School of the University of Music, Munich (Hochschule für Musik München) (1996-1998). He has sung leading roles in productions of the Opera School of the University of Music, Munich along with the Munich Symphonic Orchestra. He has collaborated with the Athens Concert Hall, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, as well as the Athens Chamber Opera. He has participated in concerts in Greece and abroad, singing roles in oratorios and opera excerpts. He has collaborated with the Greek State Radio, the Organization for the 1997 Thessaloniki Cultural Capital of Europe and the Greek Composers' Union. He has collaborated with the Greek National Opera in such productions as Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, Ariadne auf Naxos, The Possessed, Andrea Chénier, The bear by William Walton, Remember those years! etc. He has also worked with the Greek National Operas’s Children’s Stage in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Die Zauberflöte and Hänsel und Gretel. // Last update of the biography: December 2015 - The list of productions below is continually updated.
