
Ion Kessoulis
Director
Greek stage director and actor, he graduated from the Drama School of the Karolos Koun Art Theatre (Athens) and completed his postgraduate studies on Management of Cultural Organisations (University of Athens). He attended lessons of classical singing with Victoria Maifatova and Katy Papalexopoulou, as well as seminars of ancient drama, Japanese theatre and direction under Anatoly Vasiliev and Alexey Levinsky. As an actor he has performed οn theatre stages and venues in Athens and at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. He taught drama at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory and at the Athenaeum Conservatory, as well as theatre and improvisation at the GNO Opera Studio, where he works as a director’s assistant. As a director’s assistant or a director he has worked for 60 productions at the Greek National Opera and the Athens Concert Hall and has cooperated with such directors as Warlikowski, Wilson, Fulljames, Del Monaco, Langridge,
Poda, Petropoulos, Evangelatos, Kokkos, Karathanos. He directed Telemann’s Pimpinone (“The Pocket Opera” project), which was presented at various venues as
