
Katerina Kikou
Dancer
She was born in Athens. She studied at the Physics Department of the University of Patras, but devoted herself to classical dance. She was a scholar of the Onassis Foundation. She studied at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York and attended seminars at the Merce Cunningham Studio (New York) and the Laban Centre in London. She is a graduate of the Greek National School of Dance, and holds diplomas in classical-modern dance and choreography, while she has also attended acting classes. She has toured in many cities in Greece and abroad. She has performed roles in theater and television. She teaches in state-recognized dance schools. As a permanent GNO dancer, during the period 1996-2014 she appeared in the ballets: The prodigal son (Metsis/Prokofiev), Romeo and Juliet (van Dantzig/Prokofiev), Variations in white [Parallages se lefko] (de Pian/Kalomiris), The Seven Deadly Sins [Die sieben Todsünden] (Sideris/Weill), Memories (Metsis/Debussy), Paquita (Chatzis/Minkus), Sebastian (de Pian/Menotti), Don Quixote (de Pian/Minkus), Giselle (Andre/Adam), The Temple Dancer [La bayadère] (Pitipa/Minkus), Cinderella [La Cenerentola] (Vinogradov/Prokofiev), The cursed snake [To katarameno fidi] (Massine/Hatjidakis), Zorba (Massine/Theodorakis), The pirate [Le corsaire] (de Pian/Adam), Pinocchio (Armitage/Melozzi). As a member of the GNO ballet, she participated in the ballet segments in the operas: Eugene Onegin, Adriana Lecouvreur, The bat [Die fledermaus], Tannhäuser, Macbeth, etc.
