Martha Kloukina

Dancer, Choreographer, Kinesiologist
She graduated from the Laban Dance Centre, London (1995) and is a fellow of the American Dance Festival (2011). As a dancer she has collaborated with various groups in Greece and abroad (Proschema, Chorotheama, Kinitiras, Katerina Papageorgiou’s Adlib, Fotis Nikolaou's X-it, YELP DanceCo, Àngels Margarit/cia. Mudances). She worked as assistant choreographer for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. She works as a choreographer and a theater kinesiology instructor and has collaborated, among others, with the National Theater, the Amore Theater, the Athens Concert Hall and directors Thomas Moschopoulos (2004-10), Thodoris Atheridis, Dimitris Adamis, Yannis Moschos, etc. She has choreographed theater productions for children for Xenia Kalogeropoulou's Mikri Porta (Little Door) Theater, while as of 2006 she is resident collaborator with the Porta Theater Workshop. She has studied development of babies and infants under Dr. Chava Shelhav (2009-13) and completed her practice in the Netherlands in the method “Child's space, Developmental monitoring of babies and infants.” For 15 years she has been teaching creative movement and improvisation to toddlers, children and professional and amateur adults. She has presented her educational work at the 2011 Panhellenic Conference of Early Childhood Educators, the Technological Educational Institutes (TEI) Athens (Department of Early Childhood Education) and participated in the First Feldenkrais Training in Athens (awareness through movement). She collaborated with the GNO as choreographer in the production of the opera The masterbuilder [O protomastoras] (Athens Concert Hall, 2007/08).
