Marianna Mansola

She was born in Athens in a family of musicians. She began her musical studies in 1990. Three years later, the Athenaeum Conservatory offered her an annual scholarship in the class of Kostas Paskalis. She continued studying with him until her graduation, obtaining a diploma with honors and distinction (2000). During one season, she sang in the GNO Children’s Opera and then in performances of the Athens Chamber Opera. She has participated in several musical events. As a soloist she debuted in Offenbach’s operetta Le marriage aux lanterns, a production of the Athens Chamber Opera (2003), and in the opera Le nozze di Figaro at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. She won the 2nd Prize and the Award for Best Performance in the Opera Singing Competition SIMO, as well as the “Fofi Sarantopoulou” award by the Athens Chamber Opera. She participated in productions of the Athens Chamber Opera: L’impressario (2006-07), L’inganno felice (2009) and Rossini’s Die schöne Galathée (2009) by Suppé. She sang the role of the Queen of the Night in the Papagos Festival, an adaptation of the opera Die Zauberflöte (2013). In GNO she sang in the works L’italiana in Algeri, Peter Grimes (2004-05), Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Die Fledermaus (2013-14), The Magic Flute [Die Zauberflöte] (2010-11, as Queen of the Night) and the opera for children Beware!
