He was born in Athens. He studied at the Hellenic Conservatory under Jolanda di Tasso and at the Spyros Evangelatos Theatre School. He has also attended singing seminars with Kostas Paskalis, Luigi Alba, Jeanette Pilou, John Modinos and Ileana Kotrubas. In 1986 he became a member with the GNO and since then he has sung roles in more than 50 GNO productions and/or revivals. He has sung major and supporting roles in such operas as: La bohème, Tosca, Adriana Lecouvreur, Madama Butterfly, Un ballo in maschera, Thais, Simon Boccanegra, Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, Rigoletto, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Eugene Onegin, Salome, Il matrimonio segreto, Le nozze di Figaro, Fedora, Les contes d’Hoffmann and more. He sung in the Greek Operas The Fire by Giorgos Sisilianos, A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Pericles Koukos, Shadowy Waters by Manolis Kalomoiris, The Escapees of the Checkerboard by Giorgos Kouroupos and Mademoiselle de Belle-Isle by Spiros Samaras. He performed in the operettas Die Fledermaus, The Godso, The Cretan Girl, I Want to See the Pope! and Modern Maid. In 2000 he sang at the Carnegie Hall New York, in Mikis Theodorakis’ opera Elektra. He participated in numerous productions of the National Theater of Greece, the Free Theater [Elefthero Theatro] and the Athens Concert Hall. In collaboration with the Athens Chamber Opera he performed the role of Umberto in Pergolesi’s La serva padrona (1997/98).
