
George Mattheakakis
Soloist, Baritone
Greek baritone, he studied voice at the Athens Conservatory with Μeni Charalambidou, at the National Conservatory, Athens, with Cοstas Eliopoulos (diploma) and at the Royal College of Music, London, with Roderick Earle (2003/06). From 1998 to 2003 he was a member of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation Chorus under Αntonis Κοntogeorgiou. His repertoire includes Collatinus (Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia), Don Pasquale, Leporello (Don Giovanni), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) and
Dr Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore). At the Greek National Opera he has performed in such works as Turandot, Rigoletto, Rita, Ariadne auf Naxos, Die lustige Witwe, Samaras’ The Cretan Girl, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini’s L’inganno felice, Samuel Barber’s A Hand of Bridge, Milhaud’s La Délivrance de Thésée and L’Enlèvement d’Europe. He has given numerous recitals in Greece and abroad. He has attended seminars with Thomas Allen, Claudio Desderi, Andreas Scholl, Roger Vignoles, Gianfranco Cecchele, Frangiscos Voutsinos and Kiri Te Kanawa. // Last update of the biography: December 2019 - The list of productions below is continually updated.
