Soloist, Baritone
German baritone, after studying history, German language and literature, music education and philosophy, he completed his vocal training at the Cologne College of Music. After initial engagements in Regensburg, Darmstadt, Basel and Karlsruhe, he went to the Hamburg State Opera (2008/10) where he performed the four villains in Les contes d'Hoffmann, Caspar (Der Freischütz), Jochanaan (Salome), Telramund (Lohengrin). His repertory includes roles such as Wotan (Die Walküre, Das Rheingold), Wanderer (Siegfried), Posa (Don Carlos,), Iago (Otello), Amonasro (Aida), Escamillo (Carmen), Scarpia (Tosca), Wolfram (Tannhäuser), Kurwenal (Tristan und Isolde) and the title roles in Don Giovanni, Eugene Onegin, Wozzeck, Macbeth in such prestigious theatres as the State Theatre of Baden (Karlsruhe), La Scala (Milan), Cologne Opera House, Bavarian State Opera (Munich), Deutsche Oper Berlin, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie (Brussels) and De Nederlandse Opera (Amsterdam). // Last update of the biography: June 2013- The list of the productions below is complete.
