Kenny McLellan

Set Designer, Costume Designer
He studied at the Glascow School of Art and set design at the Motley Theater school of set design, where he was awarded the "Linbury" Prize for set design. He has worked with major festivals (Athens, Edinburg, Brussels, Vienna, Warsaw, Cologne, Paris) as well as renowned theaters and insitutions in Greece and abroad, such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal Court, The Traverse Theater, Opera De Montpellier, New Israeli Opera, Greek National Theater, National Theater of Northern Greece, Athens Concert Hall, Patras Municipal Regional Theater (DIPETHE), Theseum Ensemble, and the dance theaters Oktana, SineQuaNon, etc.). He has also worked with distinguished directors (Danny Boyle, Roger Michell, Michail Marmarinos, Roula Pateraki, Constantinos Rigos, Petros Sevastikoglou, Giannis Iordanidis, Nikita Milivojevic etc.). He has designed the sets and costumes for stage plays such as: Hercules Furens and Oedipus Rex (Ancient Theater of Epidaurus), Pavlos Matessis’ The dog’s mother [I mitera tou skylou] (National Theater, 2011), Melted butter [Liomeno Voutiro] (National Theater, 2008), Dimitris Dimitriades’ Dying as a country [Petheno san hora] (Athens Festival, 2007, European tour), Constantinos Rigos’ The memory of swans (I mnimi ton kyknon) (National Theater of Northern Greece, 2002), Howard Brenton’s Hess is Dead (Royal Shakespeare Company), and more. He won an award at the Drama Short Film Festival for the sets and costumes for the film Skylight [Fotagogos]. He participated in the Greek stand at the Intrnational Set Design Exhibition. He teaches set and costume design in various cities around the world. At GNO, he designed the set for the opera The barber of Seville [Il Barbiere di Siviglia] (Olympia Theatre, 2011).
