Cecil Mikroutsikou
Dancer, Choreographer, Director
Daughter of composer Thanos Mikroutsikos, she was born in Athens in 1979. She graduated from the Greek National School of Dance (1999). She has collaborated with the dance groups Analia and Sinequanon. Since June 2000 she collaborates with Griffόn dance group. She choreographed the following works: It Must Somehow [Kapos prepei] in collaboration with A. Kosti (Knossos Theater, 2002), Pick-nick: trik-sik-mik (Amore Theater and Kalamata International Dance Festival, 2003), Monotony 2 (Roes Theater, 2004), Action xt with Yannis Nikolaidis (Empros Theater, 2005), the children’s story The Apple Tree [I milia] by Emmanuel Rhoides (Athens Concert Hall Organization and Patras – European Cultural Capital 2006), Cinderella (Griffόn dance group, 2008) etc. She participates in theatrical productions as movement director and choreographer. She has choreographed theatrical productions for the Municipal and Regional Theater of Patras, the National Theater, the Neos Kosmos Theater, the National Theater of Northern Greece, the Anoixi Theater, the Kefallinias Street Theater and the Notos Theater. She took part in theatrical performances of the Neos Kosmos Theater: My mother’s house [La maison de Claudine] (2000), Troul’s Enigma [To ainigma tou Troul] (2010/11) and Three [Tria] by P. Larkos (2004), as well as the film The Thespians [Oi theatrines] (2003) by P. Portokalakis. Along with Panagiotis Larkos, she directed the children’s musical play Isn’t it Strange? [Paraxeno den einai?] with Thanos Mikroutsikos’s music (Athens Concert Hall Organization 2007/08), while she participated in the performance Travelling with the Southern Cross (Taxidevontas me ton Stavro tou Notou) with the music of Thanos Mikroutsikos and texts by Maria Papayanni (Athens Concert Hall Organization 2011/12). She collaborated with the Greek National Opera once, in the opera The Fugitives of the Chessboard [Oi drapetes tis skakieras] (white and black chess pieces) in season 1998/99.
