Nadia Muzyca
Dancer
She was born in town of Quilmes, Buenos Aires (Argentina). She started dance lessons at the Instituto de Arte del Teatro Colón when she was 9 years old. She won gold medals in the Second Latin American Ballet Competition and the Third International Ballet Competition and Dance of the Argentinian Union for Arts and Culture. At the invitation of the world famous dancer Julio Boca, she joined his "Argentinian Ballet" (1995), with which she toured throughout the world. In 1999 she became a member of the La Plata Theater Ballet of Argentina, where she was th principal dancer until 2004. In 2005 she joined the Ballet of the Colon Theater in Buenos Aires, where she danced the leading role in the premiere of Kenneth Mac Millan's Manon, and in 2012 she was promoted to principal dancer. She has danced in numerous international gala events and dance festivals, and performed the leading role in the ballet Paganini by Vladimir Vassiliev. She has been honored, among others, with the award "Golden Sun" (2007) and was nominated twice (2008, 2009) for the "Diario Clarin award for Breakout Ballet Artist". In 2014, she won the Benois de la danse award as best Ballerina and in 2015 the Society of Writers of the Province of Buenos Aires named her "Outstanding Woman of the Year 2015". She has danced leading roles in classic ballets, such as Giselle (Giselle), Don Quixote, La sylphide, Carmen, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Bajadera (La bayadere), Cinderella, Manon, Romeo and Juliet, Petrushka, Les nosces, Le spectre de la Rose, etc. At the GNO, she danced the leading role of Gretel in Cinderella [Aschenbrödel] (Zanella/Johan Strauss, 2014/15).
