She was born on 24/6/1974 in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. She won first prizes at the international singing competitions Maria Callas (Athens, 1997), Francisco Vinas (Barcelona, 1997) and Queen Sonja (Oslo, 2003). She debuted as soloist with the National Opera House of Ukraine, Kiev in 1995 and was a staff member until 2003. She made her Metropolitan Opera New York debut in 2007 as Lauretta [Gianni Schicchi], and in 2012 appeared at the Bavarian State Opera (Bayerische Staatsoper) as Fiordiligi [Thus do they all/Così fan tutte]. Since 2001 she has performed in major operas, performing lead soprano roles, including: Tatyana [Eugene Onegin], Opera of Lyon (2007); Yolanda [Yolanda], Theater of Vienna; Lucia [Lucia di Lammermoor], Mariinsky Theatre St. Petersburg; Gilda [Rigoletto], Royal Opera of Wallonia Liege; Violetta Valéry [The fallen woman/La traviata], Hamburg State Opera, Riga, Munich, Brussels and Lisbon; Nedda [Clowns/Pagliacci], German Opera of Berlin (2008); Liu [Turandot], Santiago (2009); and, Micaela [Carmen] Opera Festival of Savonlinna (Finland). She also appeared at the Welsh National Opera, Oslo Opera House, Salzburg Festival and in Hong Kong. Her repertoire also includes the roles: Leila [The pearl fishers/Les pêcheurs de perles], Antonia [The tales of Hoffmann/Les contes d'Hoffmann], Pamina [The magic flute/Die Zauberflöte], Almaviva [The marriage of Figaro/Le nozze di Figaro]. She appeared at the GNO once, as Liu [Turandot], Odeon of Herodes Atticus, 2007/8).
