Aggelos Papadhmhtriou

Actor, Singer, Visual Artist
He was born in Kiato, Corinthia. He studied graphic design at Vakalo and theatre at the Katseli Drama School. He produced paintings, sculptures and installations, and created sets for the theatre. He has taken part in many shows of both theatrical plays and musicals, including: Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, directed by Nikos Chourmouziadis at the Experimental Stage of "Art" [Peiramatiki Skini tis Technis] in Thessaloniki (1995); Stisichorou kai Pipinou Gonia at the Athens Concert Hall; Aristophanes' Birds, directed by Nikos Armaos in collaboration with the Municipal Regional Theatre of Patras (1996); Aristophanes' Clouds, directed by Andreas Voutsinas at Epidaurus (1998); Witold Gombrowicz's Operetka, directed by Vassilis Nikolaidis at the National Theatre of Northern Greece (2005); Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac, directed by Nikos Karathanou at the National Theatre (2010). He participated in TV shows and productions. As a cisual artist, he has exhibited his works in solo shows at the Athens gallery "Nees Morfes" (1993-2008), while his most recent show under the title Castrato (2010) was presented at the gallery The Breeder. Works of his have been included in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad (New York, etc.). In 1993, he represented Greece at the Venice Biennale (Aperto). In 2010, he was awarded by the Greek Chapter of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). He has appeared on stage interpreting older popular songs in Patras, Volos, Thessaloniki and Athens. He collaborated with the GNO in the operetta The Apaches of Athens [Oi Apachides ton Athinon] (2008), directed by Isidoros Sideris, and the musical spectacular The Love Germ [To mikrovio tou erota] (2009), directed by Lambros Liavas and Sophia Spyratou. As well, he participated in the musical spectacular Looking For Attik [Anazitontas ton Attik] (Badminton Theater, 2012, Lambros Liavas).
