She was born in Denmark. She studied at Royal Music Academy and the Opera Academy of the Royal Danish Opera. She made her stage debut in 1999 at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen, as the First Lady (The Magic Flute/Die Zauberflöte). This was followed by appearances at the National Opera in Aarhus, Denmark (1999) and in Wiesbaden (2001-02), while during the period 2001-04 she was a principal in the ensemble at the Graz Opera. In the last decade she had engagements in major European opera houses, such as La Scala in Milan, Royal Opera House in London, the Opera houses in Paris, Lyon, Graz, Copenhagen, Baden-Baden , Monte Carlo, Cologne, Turin, Braunschweig, Strasbourg, Buenos Aires, as well as in the Festival of Οrange. She has performed with great success numerous wagner roles, both lyric and dramatic, as Isolde (Tristan und Isolde), Elizabeth (Tannhäuser), Senta (The Flying Dutchman/Der fliegende Holländer), Elza (Lohengrin), Zieglide (The Valkyrie/Die Walküre), Freia (Gold of the Rhine/Das Rheingold). Her repertory also includes leading soprano roles such as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), The Marschallin (The Rosebearer/Der Rosenkavalier), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Desdemona (Otello), Ariadne (Ariadne in Naxos/Ariadne auf Naxos), Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Elizabeta (Don Carlos), Leonora (Fidelio), Liu (Turandot). She was in 2010 awarded the the Reumert Prize by the Danish government. She has worked with distinguished directors and conductors, such as Cyril Petrenko, Philippe Zordan, Angelo Pappano, etc. She has sung in concerts symphonic works and oratorios of Beethoven, Verdi, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Franc. She has also made various recordings and continues to do so. At GNO she appeared once, in the role Izolde (Athens Concert Hall, 2014-15). // Last update: February 2015
