Lighting Designer
She trained as a dancer and studied philosophy in Rome. In 2005 she joined Akram Khan Company as technical director and lighting designer, touring with the company worldwide. Since 2010 she has been working as a freelancer. She was the winner of three Knight of Illumination awards for Opera (2018, Eugene Onegin, Scottish Opera) and Dance (2017, Echoes, and 2013, iTMOI). Her lighting credits include Alice’s Adventures Under Ground, Bayadère – The Ninth Life (ROH), Don Juan (Aterballetto), The Sleeping Beauty (Leipzig Opera), Invisible Cities (Manchester International Festival), Powder Her Face (Northern Ireland Opera, Scottish Opera, Irish National Opera), Eugene Onegin (Scottish Opera, Opéra national du Rhin), Le nozze di Figaro (La Scala, Milan), Rigoletto (Nevill Holt Opera), Verklärte Nacht (Rambert), Dust (English National Ballet), iTMOI (MC2, Grenoble).
