She trained as a dancer and studied philosophy in Rome. In 2005 she joined Akram Khan Company as technical director and lighting designer, touring with the company worldwide. Since 2010 she has been working as a freelancer. She was the winner of three Knight of Illumination awards for Opera (2018, Eugene Onegin, Scottish Opera) and Dance (2017, Echoes, and 2013, iTMOI).
