Pantelis Psychas

He was born in Mytilini. He began studying Byzantine music at a young age. He obtained a diploma in monody and a bachelor’s degree from the Athens University of Economics and Business. During the years 1980-2008, he appeared at the GNO in approximately 60 productions and/or revivals. He performed leading and supporting roles in 21 operas, including: Die zauberflöte, La serva padrona, Il matrimonio segreto, Adriana Lecouvreur, Bastien und Bastienne, La forza del destino, Die kluge, Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, Manon Lescaut, Madama Butterfly, La bohème, Boris Gudunov, Shadowy waters [Ta xotika nera], Les contes d'Hoffmann, Rigoletto, Salome, Gianni Schicchi, Tosca. He also interpreted, at times multiple, roles in the operettas Die Fledermaus, The Apaches of Athens [Οι απάχηδες των Αθηνών], Das Dreimäderlhaus, Remember those years [Thymisou ekeina ta chronia], The Godson [Ο βαφτιστικός]. He also sand in the ballet The Accursed Snake [To katarameno fidi] (Massine/Hadjidakis). He played in the films Kavafy (1996) and Black out (1998), and he is interpreting songs by Attik in the LP “Attik – Tribute” (Protasis).
