Marcus-Glenn Shelton

He was born in Don José, Edmonds, US. He studied communication at the Seattle Pacific University. He participated in the Seattle Opera Young Artist Program (2006/08). He was awarded at the Les Azuriales Opera Competition (2009), the Sun Valley Opera Competition (2007) and the International Italian Opera Competition in Dresden (2007), while he has received a career grant from the Seattle Opera Guild (2006, 2007). As a member of the Seattle Opera Chorus in 2002-2006, he participated in several productions, including: Norma, Fidelio, Parsifal, Carmen, Rigoletto, The Girl of the West [La Fanciulla del West], The Tales of Hoffmann [Les Contes d'Hoffmann], Thus Do They All [Così fan tutte], Manon Lescaut, Lohengrin, etc. He appeared as soloist at the operas of the US cities of Seattle, Tacoma, Idaho, Skagit and Portland, as well as in Oviedo (Spain). His repertoire includes the roles: Don José [The Tragedy of Carmen by Bizet/Brook], Fenton [Falstaff], Beppe [Rita], tenor in the trio [Trouble in Tahiti, by Bernstein], Le petit vieillard (the small old man) and La rainette (the tree frog) [The Child and the Spells/L'enfant et les sortilèges], Nemorino [The Elixir of Love/L'elisir d'amore], Duke of Mantua [Rigoletto], Hoffmann [The Tales of Hoffmann/Les Contes d'Hoffmann], etc. He collaborated with the GNO once, as Rinuccio [Gianni Schicchi] (2008/09). // Last update of the biography: December 2015.
