Eleni Sotiriou
GNO Chorus Member, Mezzo-soprano
Greek mezzo-soprano, she was born in Athens. She studied piano (E. Kanaki) and monody at the National Conservatory of Athens (class of K. Tzavella, with honours). She attended seminars with Helmuth Rilling, Ingeborg Danz, Andreas Kroper, Kostas Paschalis, Martha Arapis, Vassilis Nikolaidis, Aris Christofellis, Anastasia Vareli, Nicolas Vasileiou and others. She has collaborated with various musical theatre groups and performed roles such as Mercédès (Carmen), Flora and Annina (La traviata), Fidalma (Il matrimonio segreto, Cimarosa), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), as well as the contralto part from Mozart's Requiem and Haydn's Nelson Mass with the music ensembles of the Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens. She recently sang the role of the Queen (The Idea, G. Holst).
