
Chrysanthi Spitadi
Soloist, Mezzo-Soprano
Greek mezzo-soprano, she was born in Athens. She studied singing and musical at the Vienna Music Academy and graduated from the Faculty of Theatre Studies (Athens University). She was awarded at the International Audition Competition of Schlossoper Haldenstein Festival (Switzerland, 2009) and made her professional debut as Carmen in Chur, Switzerland. In 2010 she sang Carmen (Opera Festival Klosterneuburg, Austria), while the next year she was a finalist of the Emmerich Smola Competition and made her debut as Federica (Luisa Miller, Wiesbaden). During 2011/15 she was a permanent member of the Theater & Philharmonie Thüringen. She sang to great acclaim Carmen, Charlotte (Werther), Frau Reich (Otto Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Sonjetka (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Auntie (Peter Grimes), Bradamante (Alcina) as well as Verdi’s Requiem, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, etc. She made her debut at the GNO as First Maid (Elektra, 2017). She has been permanent member of the Theater Münster (2018/19) singing Mrs. Jones (Street Scene) and Clarice (The Love for Three Oranges). // Last update of the biography: July 2019 - The list of the productions below is complete.
