Born in Italy, in search for aesthetic and conceptual unity, his artistic
work always encompasses direction, set design, costume design, lightning and choreography in a personal seal founded on a visionary, multilevel imprint balanced between ancient images and contemporary
art. His new production of Tristan und Isolde (cond. Z. Mehta) opened
the 77th Festival Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (2014), while in 2015 he
staged Faust (Teatro Regio di Torino, DVD Unitel), Andrea Chénier
(Korea National Opera), Thaïs (Theatro Municipal de São Paulo) and
Otello (Hungarian State Opera House, Budapest). The year following
he staged Ariodante (Opéra de Lausanne), L’elisir d’amore (Opéra national
du Rhin, Strasbourg), Titan (choreography on Mahler’s Symphony
