Christiana Stefanou

Dancer, Choreographer
She graduated from the State Academy of Munich and has been a soloist with the ballet of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, where she has interpreted numerous roles of prominent choreographers in the ballets: Giselle (Wright/Adam), Lady of the camellias (Neumeier/Chopin) and The Nut Cracker (Neumeier/Tchaicovsky), Symphony in C (Balanchine/Bizet), etc. With this ballet company, she also participated in tours to Russia, USA, China, Ukraine, Switzerland, Germany, spain, Italy, South Korea, Hungary, Poland and elsewhere. She has collaborated with many celebrated dance masters, such as: Olga Lepetsinskaya, Marius Liepa, Alexander Prokopiev, Valentina Savina, et al. She also collaborated with prominent choreographers, including: John Neumeier, Peter Wright, Ray Barra, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Maurice Béjart, Twyla Tharp, Jiri Kylian, Lucida Childs and others. She has taught in leading dance companies, such as the English National Ballet, the Bavarian State Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, the Ballet of the Karlsruhe State Theatre and the Ballet of the Opera of Rome. She has served as member of the jury for the State Dance Awards. Since 2000, she has been working as an instructor at the GNO Professional Dance School and the Greek National School of Dance. During the years 2010/11, she was Director of the GNO Ballet.
