Maria Tarala

GNO Chorus Member, Mezzo-Soprano
She was born in Athens. At first, she studied pedagogy in Sweden and, then, piano and advanced music theory at the Athens National Conservatory. She got a diploma in singing under Ioanna Vakridou and melodrama under Lela Stamos. At the same time she studied set design, sculpture and painting. Since 1987 she is a resident member of the GNO Chorus, participating in all its productions. During the years 1993-2007, she also sang supporting roles as a soloist, such as: Mama Lucia [Rustic Chivalry/Cavalleria rusticana], Giovanna [Ernani], Albine [Thais], Curra [The Power of Fate/La forza del destino] and Orange seller [Carmen]. // Last update of the biography: December 2015 - The list of productions below is continually updated.
