Greek baritone, he studied in Athens with Kostas Paskalis and at the University of Music and Performing Arts (Munich), with Daphne Evangelatos (Maria Callas scholarship), Donald Sulzen (Maria Callas scholarship) and Stamatis Voyatzis. He won the Willi Domgraf-Fassbaender Competition in Munich. He made his debut as Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) at Prinzregententheater, Munich. During 1997-2003 he was a member of the Nuremberg State Orchestra and since 2004 he has been working worldwide as a free lancer with distinguished soloists, conductors and directors such as David Alden, Graham Vick, Dmitri Tchernikov etc. He has performed in major scenes such as Opéra national de Paris, Royal Opera House (Covent Garden), Teatro La Fenice (Venice), New York Metropolitan Opera, Bolshoi Theatre, Dresden State Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), Opera Narodowa (Warsaw), La Monnaie (Brussels), as well as in Tokyo, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Zurich, Hamburg, Cologne, Nice, São Paulo, Moscow. He performs leading roles in operas of Verdi, Gluck, Mozart, Bellini, Puccini, Wagner, Rachmaninoff. He has recorded, among others, Dido and Aeneas, Schubert’s Winterreise, Macbeth, Rachmaninoff’s Francesca da Rimini and Don Giovanni, as well as numerous DVDs. In Greece, he has sung at the Athens Concert Hall, at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall and the Athens Festival. He was worked numerous times with the Greek National Opera in such roles as Conte di Luna (Il trovatore), Marcello (La boheme), Escamillo (Carmen), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), as well as the homonymous leading roles in the operas Don Giovanni, Simon Boccanegra, Macbeth etc. // Last update of the biography: March 2019 - The list of productions below is continually updated.
