Panagiotis Tomaras
Visual artist
Visual artist and filmmaker, driven by the impression of unique and rare visual phenomena. He explores the sensory effects of his own designed audiovisual systems through montage films, light installations and experimental photographic units. Since 2013, he has been a member and creator of the award-winning visual designs of the legendary Clock DVA and the founder of the audiovisual collective Quasigroup. He has created motion graphics, visual effects and video mapping for operas, dance performances, digital media festivals and commercial advertising. He has curated various new media and digital art festivals and has participated and won prizes in festivals and competitions in Greece and abroad. He works with artists on large-scale emotional projects and audiovisual productions, whilst his photographs are part of the permanent collection of the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography. He lives and works in The Hague. For the Greek National Opera he designed the visual medea for the opera Il barbiere di Siviglia (Olympia Theatre, 2016) // Last update of the biography: March 2017.
