Actress
She was born in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, in 1933. She initially studied at the Gymnastics Academy and for a short period at the School of Medicine, University of Athens. At the same time she studied at Athens conservatoire under Menelaos Palladios. She is a graduate of the National Theater of Greece Theater School. From 1955 to 2004, she took part in 90 performances of the National Theater. Regarding ancient drama, up to 1958 she participated in the Chorus (Ekavi, Clytemnestra, Iphigenia at Aulis etc.), in 1959 she became coryphaeus of the chorus (Oresteia, Frogs-Cyclops etc.). In 1968 she started interpreting leading roles (Electra, Andromache, Ekavi etc.). In parallel, she made a career in the modern Greek and international repertoire. Her last performance at the National Theater was with Dogville (2004). In the period 1960-2001 she played in eleven films: The Emigrants [Oi xenitemenoi], In the road of God [Sto dromo tou Theou], Innocent or Guilty [Athoos i Enoxos], 1922 etc. In the period 1971-2006 she appeared in 18 TV series, such as Starlight [Astrofegia], Verdict [Etymigoria], The howl of the wolves [I kravgi ton lykon], Luben etc. In the period 1978-1995 she participated in 22 TV-staged dramas for ERT, YENED (State TV channels) and ANT1 such as Ecclesiazousae, Tobacco Fields [Kapnotopia], Blood Wedding, King Richard III, Oedipus in Colonus, The House of Bernarda Alba etc. She has participated in recordings of Greek composers for the record editions of the Greek Weeks of Modern Music. With GNO she cooperated in the season 1977-78, when she appeared as a narrator in the ballet Genesis (Nikoloudi/Adamis, Herodeion, 1978).
