Alexandros Troitski
Soloist, Bass
He was born in Uzbekistan where he finished a music high school and took courses in bayan (a type of accordion). He studied English Literature at the University of Tashkent and singing at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. He was awarded five times as a soloist in the former Soviet Union and in Slovakia (Bratislava Golden Lyre). He was a soloist with the Uzbekistan National Radio and Television Orchestra (1972-1976) and artistic director and soloist with the state Lenconcert agency in St. Petersburg (1976-1989). He made 200 recordings with the Radio and Television Symphony Orchestras of Moscow and St. Petersburg. He has been working with the GNO since 1989 and has appeared as a soloist in supporting roles, in productions and/or revivals of the operas: La Bohème (2004-05, 2007-08, 2009-09), The Bat [Die Fledermaus] (1997-98, 1998-99, 2006-07), etc.
