Nikos Tsaoussis

GNO Chorus Member, Tenor
He was born in Volos in 1965. He started studying the piano at the age of four. He studied voice at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, Germany under Peter Jacoby, as well as at the Hellenic Conservatory under Antonis Kalaitzakis and Ηara Savvinopoulou, obtaining a monody diploma under Wassili Janulako. He is also a graduate from the School of Philosophy, University of Athens. He has collaborated with the Lyriki Ekfrasi (Lyric Expression) company, singing in a number of opera premières. He participated in the première of Theodoros Stathis’ opera Opus Elgin: The destruction of the Parthenon (Athens Concert Hall, 2012). He has given recitals in many Greek cities. He is resident member of the Greek National Opera Chorus since 1987, singing also secondary roles such as Beppe (Pagliacci), Adraste (L'Assedio di Corinto), First priest (Die zauberflöte), Binder (Das dreimädelhaus), Workman (Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk district), Slave (Salome), Don Curzio (Le nozze di Figaro), Messenger (Il trovatore), etc. // Last update of the biography: December 2015 - The list of productions below is continually updated.
