Evangelia Tsibouki-Antonini

Soloist, Soprano
She was born in Athens. She studied voice at the Greek National Conservatoire under Antonis Kalaitzakis, graduating with honors. In December 1980 she continued her studies in Milan, on a Maria Callas Foundation scholarship (by the “Friends of Music Society”, and obtained a monody diploma from the Academy of Music and Dance, Cologne. She has collaborated with the Cologne Academy Orchestra and the Westphalia Symphony Orchestra. In 1986 she sang at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. In April 1987 she sang the title role in Strauss' Elektra at the Saarländisches Staatstheater. She subsequently appeared in Hagen, Brunswick (Germany) and in Luxembourg. she was a resident staff member at the Opera of Kassel. She has performed roles of both German and Italian repertory, as well as operas by Leoš Janáček. Her performance in the role of Chrysothemis [Electra] has been recorded (Claves), while her performance in the opera The secret marriage [Il matrimonio segreto] is available in DVD (Dynamic). She interpreted the role of Electra alternately with Hildegard Behrens in Athens Concert Hall (1991-92). For the GNO, she sang once, interpreting the role of Senta [The flying Dutchman/Der Fliegende Holländer] in the 1994/95 season. (Olympia, 1994-95).
