Konstantinos Tzemos
Soloist, Tenor
He was born in Thessaloniki. He began his musical studies under soprano Varvara Tsambali. He subsequently attended seminars in Greece and abroad. He got his diploma with honors and went on to study with Vangelis Chatzisimos, Methild Stamataki and and the Themis Sermie. As a soloist he has performed in major Greek theaters (Athens Concert Hall, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, GNO, Herodeion, National Theater of Northern Greece, Epidaurus Ancient Theater), and abroad (Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Switzerland), performing a broad repertoire of works by Greek and foreign composers. He has appeared with the Athens State Orchestra, the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Athens and the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) modern music orchestra, collaborating with conductors such as O. Koch, Constantine Johns, Chrysanthos Alisafis and George Aravidis. He has starred in operas, operettas, musicals and prose plays with the GNO, as well as with the Thessaloniki Theater, Katia Dandoulaki Theater, etc., under directors such as Michael Cacoyannis, Chalambos Fortotiras, George Remoundos and Karmen Rougkeri. He has appeared on various television shows, as well as in the Greek series Patients and Wayfarers (Astheneis kai Odoiporoi). He has participated in numerous light music concerts throughout Greece, cooperating with distinguished artists. He has recorded Renaissance and baroque music in Venice, as well as George Voukanos’ works: He has cooperated with the GNO several times, interpreting roles in operetta productions such as The Godson [O Vaftistikos] (Acropol Theater, 2004-5), Christina, Apaches of Athens [Oi apahides ton Athinon], The flower of the Levant [To fioro tou Levante] (Acropol Theater 2000-2001), The girl of the neighborhood [To koritsi tis gitonias] (Acropol Theater 2002-3), The general secretary [O genikos grammatefs] (Acropol Theater 2003-4).
