
Margarita Varlamou
Actress
She was born in Athens. She is the daughter of the dancer and choreographer Takis Varlamos and the Italian dancer and dance teacher Maria De Petrillo. She accompanied her parents on their tours through Europe and America from a young age. She studied ballet, modern dance and jazz at Rancho Santiago College in California. When she returned from America, she went to the first auditions for dance performances. The auditions led her to television, where she first appeared in 1992 in the police series One woman from the past directed by Errikos Andreou. She then began her collaboration with the theatre, where she first appeared in 1994 in the play Blood wedding directed by Isidoros Sideris. Many more appearances followed, both on television and in the theatre, but also in the cinema. Since 1992 she has also been the artistic director of the dance school founded by her parents in 1979. There, she teaches classical dance, rhythmics and dance gymnastics, whilst supervising and directing the performances. As a dancer, she has worked with renowned choreographers, including Haris Mandafounis, Dimitris Papazoglou, Kyriakos Kosmidis, Fokas Evangelinos, Takis Papazoglou.
