He was born in Valencia, Spain in 1975. He started music studies in Madrid under Inés Ribanedeira. At the age of 20 he continued his studies at the Joaquim Rodrigo Conservatory in Valencia, from where he got his diploma. In 2000 he was the recipient of the Youth Program Award from the Metropolitan Opera New York, and continued studying under Trish McCaffree, Renata Scotto and Pierre Vallet. In 2002 he received three prizes at the Francisco Vinas International Singing Contest, in Barcelona. In 2003 he made his debut in the role of Alfredo (La traviata). From 2002 to 2004 he was a permanent member of the Giessen State Theatre. His repertory there includes principal tenor roles such as: Pollione in Norma, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Lensky (Eugene Onegin) and Mitch in the world premiere of Andre Previn's opera A Streetcar Named Desire in Germany, Ismaele (Nabucco, Olympia Theatre, Athens 2006/07). He has also performed roles in the operas Carmen, Il tabarro, Tosca, Cavalleria rusticana, Fedora, Falstaff, Werther, Das Rheingold (in Valencia and Florence under the baton of Zubin Mehta), Alfano’s Cyrano de Bergerac with Placido Domingo (in Valencia under Patrick Fournillier).
