Germán Villar

Spanish tenor, he was born in Valencia. In 2000 he received a grant from the Young Artist Program of the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, to complete his studies. In 2002 he received three prizes at the Vinas Competition, Barcellona. From 2002 to 2004 he sang for Giessen State Theatre. His repertory includes Pollione in Norma, Count Loris Ipanov in Fedora, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Alfred in Die Fledermaus. He has recently sung Carmen, Eugene Onegin, Il tabarro, Tosca, La traviata, Cavalleria Rusticana, Das Rheingold (Valencia, Florence under Mehta) and Alfano’s Cyrano de Bergerac with Domingo (Valencia under Fourniller). // Last update of biography: October 2007 - The list of the productions below is complete.
