Christina Yannakopoulou

Soloist, Soprano
She was born in Kalamata. She studied singing at the Athenaeum Conservatory with Kostas Paschalis, where she graduated with honors and first prize. She is a graduate of the Department of French Language and Literature (University of Athens) and the Drama workshop for theatre and opera of Spyros A. Evangelatos. In 1994, she won a Yamaha scholarship and a year later she excelled at the international competition Grand Prix Maria Callas in the Oratorio-Lied category. As a scholarship holder of the Kalamata Friends of Music Association, she continued her studies at the Vienna Music Academy with professors Kurt Equiluz and Margarita Lilova and received her diploma with distinction. She has taken part in numerous masterclasses in classical singing with internationally renowned lyric singers. She has collaborated with almost all symphony orchestras in Greece and has performed abroad. She teaches monody at conservatories and has taught as well at the Opera Studio of the Greek National Opera. At the Greek National Opera, she sang the role of the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte, 2000), as well as the role of Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos, 2001) and Atalante (Serse, 2002 & 2003). // Last update of the biography: December 2023- The list of productions below is complete.
