Solist, Mezzo-soprano
Russian mezzo-soprano, born in Saint Petersburg, she had her first engagement at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. She made her debut at the Teatro Real, Madrid, as Waltraute (Götterdämmerung) and Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde). She thrilled as Judith (Bluebeard’s Castle) at La Scala, Milan, and celebrated great successes with the same role with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev. She sang Fricka (Das Rheingold and Die Walküre) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Venus (Tannhäuser) at the Dresden Semperoper. As Kundry (Parsifal) she appeared in Lyon, Mannheim, Dusseldorf and Vienna. She sang Marie (Wozzeck) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana) at the Opéra Bastille, Paris. She enjoyed great success as the Foreign princess (Rusalka), Princess of Eboli (Don Carlo) and Ortrud (Lohengrin) at the Vienna State Opera.
