He was born in Cyprus. At the age of five, he began piano lessons. He continued his studies in England after Gina Bachauer’s instigation. Sixteen years old he performed as a soloist at the Royal Festival Hall in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and some years later he was appointed “Young musician of the year”. Since then he has begun an international career as a pianist and conductor. In 1998 he founded the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, of which since then he has been a music director, as well as the Oxford Summer Piano Academy. He has conducted internationally renowned orchestras and has collaborated with the world’s greatest musicians. He has wide discography. In 2013, he was awarded the Certificate of Honour Nomination from the Oxford City Council for his contribution to musical events οf the campus, while in 2014 he was awarded the title MBE by the Queen Elizabeth. In the past he has conducted at the Greek National Opera such operas as Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte and Il trovatore. // Last update: March 2019
