She was born on 05/07/1965 in Warsaw. She studied singing at the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music with Halina Słonicka. During her studies, she performed at the Polish National Opera first time in 1991, singing the role of Aza in the opera Manru. In 1992, she was awarded first prize at the Alfredo Kraus International Singing Competition in the city of Las Palmas. This was followed by many other prizes and awards at important competitions, including the Luciano Pavarotti International Singing Competition and the Belvedere Singing Competition. In the following years she appeared at the Bremen Theatre, while she had a regular collaboration with the Vienna State Opera, where she first performed as Polina (The Queen of Spades). Further appearances followed, in which she sang many of the most important roles in her repertoire such as Carmen, Maddalena (Rigoletto), Olga Larina (Eugene Onegin), Pierotto (Linda di chamounix, with Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo). In 1999, she worked with the Semper Opera House in Dresden, where she sang the roles of Ms. Quickley (Falstaff) and Urlica (Un ballo in maschera). In 2005 she appeared for the first time at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she sang the role of Delilah (Samson and Delilah). A short time later, she was invited back to the Metropolitan Opera to perform the role of Amneris (Aida) and again in the role of Delilah. In addition, she sang the role of Princess Eboli at the New National Theatre in Tokyo, while her performance as Azucena (Il trovatore) at Covent Garden alongside Roberto Alania in 2009 was significant. She has performed at most of the world’s major opera houses, including the Grand Theatre of Geneva, the Palais des Beaux-Arts and the Strasbourg Opera House. In 2014, she was appointed Artistic Director of the Ada Sari International Festival and Vocal Artistry Competition in Nowy Sącz, Poland.
